Sustainable Fuel in Formula 1

In the recent years, the lookout for sustainable fuel has caught the attention of the world's pinnacle of motorsport. Formula 1 plans to develop and use net-zero emissions fuel in their cars by 2026.

In today's day and age, fossil fuels are emitting loads of CO2 into the atmosphere. This is causing the well-known global-warming. But what if there was a way to still move the planet on fuel and keep it at a net-zero emission at the same time. Net-zero emissions emit no CO2 if you look at the total picture - that means that you still emit CO2, BUT the CO2 is being compensated at for example the creation of the fuel. Sustainable fuel is made from green hydrogen, forestry and agricultural waste and also carbon captured from the air.

The FIA and Aramco are partnering up to create this sustainable fuel for the Formula 1 cars. If we find a way to scale this system up, we could be looking at a small fraction of the world's transport fuels replaced by sustainable fuel. This might support the fight against climate change. The future lies in sustainability:)
